22nd ECABA: Behavior Based Safety (BBS) Congress 2026
The annual European Behavior Based Safety (BBS) Congress will take place on June 11-12, 2026 in Milan, at the University of Milan. The event is organized by AARBA as part of the 22nd European Conference on Applied Behavior Analysis.
Attendance at the Congress Day on June 11th is free of charge upon registration, while the workshops on June 12th are reserved for AARBA and AIAMC members for the year 2026.
The event is aimed at HSE managers, HSE officers, Plant managers, Production managers, HR managers and staff, behavior analysts, psychologists, and anyone interested in exploring how
To improve workplace safety through the science of Behavior Analysis.
Over the years, the Congress has received three Presidential Medals from the President of the Italian Republic, a recognition that highlights the scientific and institutional value of the initiative, and features speakers among the leading national and international experts in Behavior Based Safety (BBS), along with representatives of key Institutions and companies that implement the BBS protocol.
The international speakers for this edition will be: John Austin (invited), Bob Cummins (confirmed), Donald Hantula (confirmed), Andressa Sleiman (confirmed), and Julie Smith (invited). As in previous years, simultaneous translation from English to Italian and vice versa will be provided free of charge.
The main topics will be:
BBS, laws and regulations.
Safety Leadership and Management commitment in safety management.
The applications of BBS across different companies.
The program is currently being finalized.
The two days will be structured as follows:
June 11th, 2026 – Congress Day:
Plenary with opening session, institutional greetings and Lectio magistralis from international speakers.
Parallel symposia on the application of BBS across different companies (Static & Dynamic Settings).
June 12th, 2026 – Workshops
Parallel workshops led by industry experts
Pre-registration for the Congress Day on June 11th, 2026 is already open.
Participation in the workshops on June 12 is reserved for AARBA and AIAMC members.
